About Field AI
Field AI is transforming how robots interact with the real world. We are building risk-aware, reliable, and field-ready AI systems that address the most complex challenges in robotics, unlocking the full potential of embodied intelligence. We go beyond typical data-driven approaches or pure transformer-based architectures, and are charting a new course, with already-globally-deployed solutions delivering real-world results and rapidly improving models through real-field applications.
Why It's a Rocketship
Why It's a Rocketship
Field AI is tackling one of the hardest problems in robotics: autonomy in unstructured environments. Instead of relying on static maps or extensive pre-training, its “field foundation models” allow robots to interpret sensor inputs in real time and adapt to constantly changing conditions such as construction sites, mines, and industrial facilities. This shift from map-based navigation to environmental understanding unlocks a massive set of high-value use cases including inspection, logistics, and safety monitoring where human intervention has historically been expensive, slow, or dangerous. Unlike many robotics startups, Field AI is already commercial, generating millions in revenue by selling access to its autonomy models, which can be deployed across third-party hardware platforms from Boston Dynamics, Unitree, and others.
The company’s momentum is reflected in its rapid valuation increase from $500 million to a planned $2 billion within a year, backed by investors such as NVIDIA, Khosla Ventures, and Temasek. This is still very much a team bet: founder Ali Agha spent decades leading autonomy research at NASA JPL and DARPA, including the winning CoSTAR team in the DARPA Subterranean Challenge, and the broader group brings experience from DeepMind, Cruise, and Amazon. That depth of expertise makes Field AI one of the few groups in the world capable of solving unstructured autonomy. With proven deployments, a growing customer base, and a platform that can extend across industrial robots, autonomous vehicles, and even humanoids, Field AI has the right team and technology to become the defining autonomy layer for the robotics industry.
