Traversal is the AI Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for the enterprise—already trusted by some of the largest companies in the world to troubleshoot, remediate, and even prevent the most complex production incidents. Our mission is to free engineers from endless firefighting and enable them to focus on creative, high-impact work.

Our roots remain deeply embedded in AI research, and we’re channeling that scientific rigor and creativity into building the premier AI agent lab for the enterprise. Without the entire team, none of this would be possible.

Traversal is reinventing observability by automating one of enterprise software’s most expensive and painful workflows: root cause analysis. Traditional observability platforms like Datadog, Splunk, and Elastic are optimized for storing and visualizing MELT data, but they leave engineers drowning in dashboards and manual war rooms when incidents hit. Traversal flips the model by treating troubleshooting as an AI problem first, not a data plumbing problem. Its agentic system orchestrates LLM reasoning, causal inference, and inference-time compute to systematically traverse logs, metrics, and traces across fragmented systems. The result is over 90 percent accuracy within minutes for incidents where the answer lies in the data, compressing hours of costly downtime into rapid, actionable resolution.

The company’s traction reflects this value proposition. Enterprises like DigitalOcean, American Express, Cloudways, and Eventbrite are already using Traversal to cut downtime, reduce the size and duration of incident response teams, and restore customer trust faster. Founded by MIT researchers Anish Agarwal, Raj Agrawal, Raaz Dwivedi, and former Citadel trader Ahmed Lone, Traversal combines deep expertise in causal ML and infrastructure with lived experience of high-stakes outages. In under two years the company has secured backing from Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins, validating its potential to be the intelligent observability platform of the future. With system downtime costing enterprises up to $1.9 million per hour, and AI-generated code making systems harder to debug, Traversal is positioned to become the default AI-native layer that keeps critical software reliable.
